Big Trout Lodge & 2nd Harvest Food Bank Partner for 2010 Food Drive

For too many people, the reality of the ongoing recession means missing meals. More households are turning to Second Harvest’s network of neighborhood food banks to put food on the table as they struggle with unemployment, low-wage jobs and rising consumer prices.

Please take this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of local families and seniors. In many cases, they are facing food shortages in their homes for the first time in their lives.

Every can of food you donate feeds hope for our neighbors in need. You can be part of the solution to hunger in our community. Bring you non-perishable food items to the Lodge. We have collection bins in the lobby for your convenience, if you are unable to get to the lodge please contact the office at (509) 926-6539 for assistance.

Thank you to all who have donated so far. We still have room for more generous donations. Stop by today!

Spooky Halloween Party 2010

We hosted our annual Spooky Halloween Party Wednesday, October 27th. We were so pleased with the turnout and all of the fantastic costumes!

We started the party off with cupcake decorating, there were some scary creations using gummy worms, gummy fingers, eyes and lots of sugar and of course dirt (crushed Oreo cookies). Then we decorated mini pumpkins adorning them with googlie eyes, feathers, pom poms. Much more creativity was flowing as we continued to spookify treat bags, and paper bats. We enjoyed festive music, Casper the Friendly Ghost movie and then wrapped up the evening with the ever popular pinata. The kids were scrambling to gather up all of the candy and prizes once the pinata broke open. A great time was had by all.

Thanks again to all who attended and helped to make this event such a success!
